William Onions (Whitelaw 1116), son of Selby Onions and the grandson of Richard, was born in Accomack Co., VA, circa 1773.
On 1 June 1808 the court in Accomack Co., VA, ordered, "[that] William Onions [be representive of] Selby Onions ... all soldiers in the American Army in the Revolutionary War" (Nottingham 8).
Whitelaw states: "1728 [Richard] Bundick gave
the upper 100 acres on the branch to his daughter Susanna and her husband John
Onions of Somerset. 1751 - The will of Onions (wife Susana) made no
mention of the land, but named sons Richard and William Selby Onions. The
former died intestate in 1769 and a survey in 1787 gave William Onions as the
owner of this piece" (1116).
