WILLIAM ONIONS

HOUSEHOLD 2

[A112]

William Onions (Whitelaw 1116), son of Selby Onions and the grandson of Richard, was born in Accomack Co., VA, circa 1773.

On 1 June 1808 the court in Accomack Co., VA, ordered,  "[that] William Onions [be representive of] Selby Onions ... all soldiers in the American Army in the Revolutionary War" (Nottingham 8).

Whitelaw states:  "1728 [Richard] Bundick gave the upper 100 acres on the branch to his daughter Susanna and her husband John Onions of Somerset.  1751 - The will of Onions (wife Susana) made no mention of the land, but named sons Richard and William Selby Onions.  The former died intestate in 1769 and a survey in 1787 gave William Onions as the owner of this piece" (1116).
